Welcome to a space inspired by personal experiences traveling through exotic landscapes and mysterious ocean environments of Australia. Imagine the emotions conjured while hiking through ancient eucalyptus forests listening to calls of strange and curious wildlife… or swimming in the Great Barrier Reef with just a mask and fins coming face-to-face with intrigue, fear and beauty simultaneously. The beautiful bright colors and strange sounds of these haunting environments created enchanting memories.
Austen and René created this installation with a common experience and vision, but worked independently and with personal intuition. Austen’s intense interest in creating video and synthesized sound merges with René’s interest in textures and complexities of fused glass and cast paper. Light, shadow, physical texture and sound bring the composition together for the final piece. We appreciate your feedback.
